It's spring and we are blooooming
Our turn of the season collage events will always be a favorite of mine.
Last year's spring equinox 'Bloom' event was our official first & it was also a collab with my best friend Arielle of Sunrise Girls Club.
For a place that is trying to help folks slow down, be kind to themselves and get creative, I am very aware that creative moments can bring out our inner critic. If you relate, I would highly recommend collage.
It’s very “im not an artist/creative” friendly, even though you are ;)
You don’t have to draw anything or render an image from scratch, which can be a sign of a relief.
There isn’t as much room for comparison.
I always marvel that we all start with the same supplies and all land in totally different expressions. You can’t have an exact picture in your mind about how it’s going to turn out. You are not going to make something that looks like someone else’s.
Especially as you are building self trust, collage helps you get in touch with your intuition.
As you’re flipping through pages, you really have to ask yourself over and over again. does this make me feel anything? How does it make me feel? Do I want to interact with it?
It’s also great imagination practice.
You have the opportunity to rearrange phrases. An opportunity to make the ordinary surreal.
I really love collage :) - Can you tell?
I'm so honored for folks that trust me with holding space for their creative expression & am already looking forward to next month's club meeting - stay tuned to see what we do! But first look at what we all made!
